On Thursday, July 25 2024 a birthday party was held for Marshal Andy at a bar and restaurant in Knoxville, TN. The entire event was recorded and was intended to be used for this episode of Marshal Andy and Friends – The Loudon Sessions. However, due to the fact that the PA system was so loud (both live and recorded), the audio quality was deemed simply unacceptable. The only two sections we thought acceptable to use were performances by Chris Davis and Bobby Estes, which featured a rendition of Red Sovine’s “Phantom 309” and a demonstration of buck dancing; and Rex Mingie performing Lew Dewitt’s “The Knoxville Cowboy.”

Although the birthday party was meant to be Marshal Andy’s final public performance, the audio quality issue has caused him to reevaluate this idea; and future options for another performance are being considered.
